Friends of Norway celebrates the Norwegian National Day

Time: Sunday 14th May 2017 11am - 4 pm
Venue: Swedish Church 21 St Georges Rd Toorak

Program
11 am - 12 noon.
Sermon. The Norwegian Church Abroad, Sjømannskirke Chaplain Kristoffer Lønning Tørresen conducts.
The Scandinavian Choir of Melbourne sings Norwegian songs.

12 noon - 12.30 pm
Welcome by Friends of Norway President Ole martin Chapman
Speech of the Day by Beate Gabrielsen, First Secretary at the
Norwegian Embassy in Canberra
Norwegian National Anthem 'Ja, vi elsker dette landet' accompanied by the Borondara Brass Band.

12.30 pm
17th May Flag parade through the streets of Toorak, accompanied by Boroondara Brass Band.

1pm - 4 pm
Norwegian 17th May delicacies cream cake (bløtekake), ice cream, yummie hot dogs, waffles and more.
Entertainment for the kids-
Raffle, raffle!

Volunteer call
For the day to be successful, we need volunteers to contribue, bake and bring cakes, help out in the kitchen and outdoors, serving cakes, hot dogs ice cream and waffles, sell raffle tickets and more. Any help, if only for an hours, would be appreciated!

Easter Celebrations 2017

Friends of Norway welcomes all children of FON members to join our Easter workshop and egg-hunt!

Bring your own drink and platter to enjoy in the lovely garden of Svenska Kyrkan in Toorak.

Time: Sunday 23 April 2017 10 am - 1 pm
Venue: Swedish Church, Toorak House 21 St Georges Rd Toorak VIC
Entry: Free but RSVP required by 16 April

The entry is free but for a successful event please confirm your participation to Kamilla, Eva or Anecke so we know to have sufficient material for the creative minds and eggs for the egg hunters!

Norwegian Juletrefest! Traditional Christmas celebration

Friends of Norway, The Norwegian Club of Victoria, invites you to the Norwegian traditional 'juletrefest', Christmas celebration.

10 am:
Julegudstjeneste: Norwegian Christmas service by Sjømannskirken's priest Kristoffer Lønning Tørresen
Christmas Carols by Scandinavian Choir of Melbourne

11 am:
Children bake ginger bread cookies.
Sing Norwegian Christmas carols while going around the decorated Christmas tree.
Friends of Norway's Norwegian Language School performance
'Kommer Julenissen'? See if Santa Clas will find his way to all the children!

What to bring:
A plate of food to share
A name-labelled present for your child.
Also appreciated would be a present to be donated to the Salvation Army, labelled with girl/boy and age group.
